INTRODUCES?

Does this have any validity?<br />Number the letters to the word INTRODUCES one to ten.<br /><br />The last two letters of the model number for a 1980+ motor should correspond with the word INTRODUCES and give you the year of the motor.<br />ie. C=8, T=3 ...giving a 1983 motor.<br /><br />Well my model number is E90 MLCRD. R=4, D=6<br />My boat and motor where made in 1984. C=8, R=4<br /><br />I think the D is extra. What does it mean?
