I am looking at a 1984 "invader" cuddy cabin with a Volvo I/O V8 to buy. I have never heard of the brand "invader". Does anybody have any knowledge of the quality of that brand? The boat appears to be from Ohio, but is now in the Great Pacific Northwest (washington). Also, concerning the powerplant, I am told that it is a 5 liter with 350 cubic inches. I think that would be a 5.7 liter engine. Which is correct for that year? Will I have any trouble getting parts for the outdrive and/or the "marine" parts of the engine (ie- exhaust manifolds, marine distributor, etc). he motor has 352 hours on the hour meter, and it is not FWC. I fugure that may not be a problem if most of the hours were in fresh water. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Dumb Tom

Re: Invader Cuddy

Hey Tom

I bought a 1988 Invader cuddy last summer - it's hard to find info on these boats . Mine is a 21' and in the ocean in Vancouver , BC . I love the boat ...
I had a difficult time even finding pictures of Invaders online - good luck ...

Re: Invader Cuddy

Check the Invader very carefully. They are renouned for splits in the hull along the chines. They were not made much better than the Bayliner of the same vintage.

Check it very carfully for rot and soft spots.

They were popular around here for about 3 years and now they are gone.
