My trailer is invader I have some numbers off of my trailer plate.  Invader boat company 4BHB51814M1E03143 model 5177 Build date 11/90 Load range C Single axle 14" wheels any help in pointing me in the right direction would be great Many thanks Dan

At that age you might want to consider to just buy a complete new hub with everything installed already. Even better would be to change over to disc brakes but that would require to add a reverse solenoid (bypass!) to your actuator. For most of the disc brakes they use automotive pads you can get at any local parts store.

not sure which companies that the trailer company used, however the usual brake suppliers are Dico, Titan, Tie Down, etc. you will need to know your backing plate diameter and the brake shoe width. most of the components are interchangeable.

the last time I did trailer brakes, I could replace the whole backing plate assembly with new shoes, wheel cylinder, etc. for a little more than the cost of the wheel cylinder. I think I spent $50 per side from e-trailer for galvanized.

That's great help thanks. So all I need to do is measure the back plate? Because I've found some on that link and it says 10" or 12" but nothing on the shoe width. There are a few different 10 or 12" with different part numbers. I can't see any numbers on any of my braking system

Don't be surprised if you need to change out your master cylinder as well. Replace the wheel cylinders or complete backing plates and then see if all is well with the master.

I just went to replace a seized cylinder as well, and found it to be a much better deal to replace the whole backing assembly. $70 a piece was a deal considering the price for individual parts, not to mention the time saved with assembly.

For 10" and 12" you'll notice they usually make normal single-plunger models, free-backing models, dual-plunger models, and some companies make self-adjusting models. You'll also need to know if the plate mounts on 4 or 5 bolts.
