Have a 400w inverter that I use to recharge a netbook and a few other things. Running two batteries in my boat. Where would be a good spot to place the inverter. Boat is a 19ft cuddy. Freshwater boating enviroment.

Somewhere high and dry. Since it is an electrical piece without spark proofing it can be nowhere near fuel. I'd put it in the front passenger side under the dash. But not in the cuddy since it's an enclosed area which could hold fumes if there was ever loose fuel in the boat.

Yes, The electronics are likely fragile. Here in the land of salt water, we lose robust things to rust and corrosion every day. For example, I have a new water seperator in my console what is starting to rust. Imagine what that environment would do to electronics....
