Looks like these boys applied a little science to their poaching.

Also seems like 174 lbs of fillets might put you over the possession limit.

Guess I should have checked the regs before typing that last line. Possession limit is 30 for all types of catfish so I guess 174 lb of flathead is not that big.

You mean I can't trap cats in an old bathtub and then gig them? Biggest problem is that handfishing is illegal in Iowa. Minor detail, I guess.

Is that the same as 'tickling'. As kids, we learnt how to tickle trout, and that was illegal. Got quite good at it. Caught more than my father did on his fly rod.
