Hey guys, just got a 1959 10hp Evinrude in a storage unit sale that I purchased really cheap. ($100 for the contents of the unit) The motor looks to be mostly complete and will turn over. It is missing the fuel line connector to the carb and has been painted an ungodly camo color! Is this thing worth putting any money into to get running or is it a "parts" motor? The lower unit looks to have been welded on at one time? The numbers on the plate are 10018-07267 so I think it is a 1959 10hp. Are these motors worth anything?

Well you can't sell it and retire on the profit, if that's what you mean. But of course it is worth something. I just sold a 1957 that runs well and has a new water pump for $160.00.

Cool, time to go duck hunting. :D

You'll want to check the lower unit oil and make sure it isn't milky white and check the ignition system over and see the coils aren't cracked.
