No, the 1993 120 hp had Thunderbolt ignition, which does not have a cd. I suspect that ebay seller doesn't know what year the motor is.

The 1990a thru 1991c 120hp does use a cd, the same as your 50hp according to Mercruiserparts web site.

Old part number is F685301-2
New part number is 300-888788

ebay seller barker67 has a new one
maxrules site has aftermarket unit for $188 , #116-8301

FYI, CD, CDI, CDM are all different for different types of ignition systems.

Also, if you have a blue cd, you need blue coils. If you have black cd, you need black coils.

My cd is blue and my coils are blue. My flywheel says prestolite. If I need a new cd I want it cheap (cause thats me!, CHEAP) any leads are welcome. Thanks in advance!

Roscoe, I hope you read this... I was wondering if the electronic gear barker67 has for a 92 will fit my engine? It looks as though he has a complete ignition set for a 1992-94 0E000001 THRU 0E093699? Good price too..?

The "complete wiring" item he has is for 1992"C" thru 1995 motors, it has the Thunderbolt ignition and uses a switchbox and black coils, and a two wire trigger.

I suppose you could buy it and replace all the ignition components on your motor, should work. maybe. But what if there is one bad component in there. These parts are used afterall. Then you would have 2 not complete ignition systems that don't work.

I would buy the new cd unit he has, that way you won't have to mess with the rest of the system.

Thanks! I decided to go to Standard magneto's online store and ordered a new one. I could play the e-bay game, but I want to get this boat moving. The salmon are starting to bite here and I'm not going to miss out. I sure hope this fixes the problem. Sure find it odd that the spark to ground is very strong (with a crack),but the spark to the plug is so weak???...
