Is a Laser II 26 pitch to much for a 115hp

I have a 95' Nitro 170DC with a Mercury 115. The boat came with a Laser II 26 pitch prop. From what I read, alot of people seem to think this prop is to much for the 115hp. Then again I see alot of people running a 26 pitch with the same boat setup I have.

Any thoughts?

I would say run it and see how it does. "Nitro" sounds like a light fast hull.

Only you, the owner of the boat, can answer the quesion.

If your motor reaches its target max RPM range at top speed, then no it is not too much prop.

if your RPMS are below max target range at top speed, then yes it is too much prop.

You can play with the vent hole size to help hole shot, properly trimmed it should scream with your set up.
