Atempting to remove trim piston rod from frame attached to lower unit and motor on my 1986 75 Mercury. The thru bolt has a large slot. Much wider than typical large screwdriver. Is it actually a screw? What is needed to remove this pivot bolt?
Thanks yet again,
Karl.

It's not a bolt. It has a pin through it to hold it in place. Slot is there to twist back and forth as you push it out.

Thanks for that info, so should I be looking for clips or something to retain the pin? Do I tap it through or will it move that simply? Overall, although it is an older model, everything so far has been in excellent condition and has come apart nicely, so corrosion has not been a problem. It pushes through by pushing on the slotted side? Unfortunately, my boat isn't right here or I would go look, I would just like to know what toexpect or tools needed when I get there.
Thanks again,
Karl.
