Re: Is awl grip paint that dangerous???
18rabbit,

Paint I used was Interlux Brightside single part.
It was reduced with 216 Interux suggested solvent, designed for spraying application. As suggested paint was reduced by 10% of solvant. It was applied on a day when air temperature was about 70 - 75 degrees.
All instructions of application were followed as directed. Time allowed between coats - 16 -18 hours.
Interlux is not as hard as Awlgrip. I have not used a 2 part Interlux, but pretty sure it will be harder when cured then single part.
Interlux single part looks beautiful, my only issue with it was it was not as hard as Awlgrip.

The boat I have now was painted with Awlgrip. I need to repaint repaired secion, not the whole boat. Matching color is a problem. I first tried to mix Interlux white and beige to get to the right color I need. Awlgrip "oyster white" is my color. I mixed and tested for good 3 hours. I thought I came close to matching. paint looked close to what is no the boat, but turned darker once it cured. Then as I was going through paint chips samples from many other companies, I saw Awlgrip. I looked at color names of Awlgrip and saw "oyster white". This is when I remembered the guy who sold me the boat naming the paint. But for some reason I was always sure it was painted with Imron. It was Awlgrip, so that is why I decided to do it with the same paint.

Boatman,
If I needed to repaint the whole boat I would most likely be doing it with 2 part Interlux.
