a good friend gave me a engine block for a 200 efi mercury outboard, after installing it i couldnt get it to run right, i tried everything in the service manual. now i an wondering if the block he gave me is really a 150 efi block. i now have no way to contact him as he has moved out of province.
how can i identify this block? i know that some blocks have the serial number stamped on a plug on top of the block, but no luck there . is there another way to identify it? even my wife and kids are eager to know ,lol. any help please. (the engine in question is a 1996 mercury efi.)
