Is it possible for outboard to be mounted off center and cockeyed by factory

Been trying to figure out stability problems ( boat leans and plows to left), adjusted trim tab, raise lowered motor, installed foil. I finally took rough measurements to see if motor was centered on boat. It looks like the motor is 1-14" inch left of center and the left transom bolts are 1/4 inch off level(lower than right bolts). Do the factorys (in 1991 anyway) make sure the motor is centered on boat? Its a 1991 procraft 170. 115 mercury outboard.

They should, but if that was the problem wouldn't it showed up years agio. It sounds to me like a hook in the bottom of the boat, take a 3 or 4 ft straight edge and ck the last 3 ft of the bottom to see that it is level--Bob

Only got the boat 2004 , it was well cared for. The bottom is level. Could the skeg or lower unit be bent or prop bent not noticable to the naked eye but enough to cause this leaning? Also I measured the motor again and it does sit to the left 1-1/4". The motor mount bolts are not bent, the transom is solid. This problem is minor and I can live with it. Thanks Laddies.
