Is it really a 200 HP powerhead?

I have a ser# of D137049 on what I was told was a 200HP powerhead. Now another fellow tells me it is a 150HP powerhead. Will the real HP Identify itself?<br />If there is any logic to Mercury's Nomenclature I would appreciate a lesson.<br />Thank you

Those V-6 powerheads shared the same block 135HP and up.I 'ran' #D137049 and found 150HP XL 1992.<br /><br />I don't understand ALL of Merc's nomenclature either,so I won't try to explain it.<br /><br />Could someone have changed carbs and several other parts to give you 200HP ? I doubt it,as the cost would be too high.<br /><br />Let's see what others say on this.<br /><br />DHP
