IS IT THE PUMP?

I have a 115 merc. I seem to be having a fuel starvation problem. After serveral minutes running full throtle my engine slowly backs off until it's only running 3/4 speed. I had my buddy squeeze the ball after the engine backed off and it started running right. I do not see any leaks in the hoses. Do you think its the fuel pump or what? Thanks for any opinions or suggestions.

Stack

Yes it could very well be the fuel pump.

If I read correct you say that the primerbulb was squeezed and the engine responded?

TMD

what year is your engine, merc had a service bulletin out on their fuel pumps, they changed the rubber check valves with mylar , thus preventing warping, sounds like you need to rebuild the pump. its easy to do and even comes with instructions in the kit, your local dealer should be able to get it for you for around 15 bucks
