we are first time boaters and confused.
We have a 1986 starcraft 16' runabout I/O that apparently has some serious motor problems. The mechanic has told us that there is a bad wrist pin causing a bad noise and vibration in the motor. Also that the stern drive has been leaking and is full of water. the bill for this work is in the $2500 range and I guess we're trying to justify spending the money.
thanks forany help. Hi, Dianne.

Yours is an engine question. You will get more and better responses on the Engines and Motors Forum.

When you post there, give details on your engine. Some are worth fixing, some are not. Someone there should be able to help. :)
