Well I have posted a few times asking questions about what to look for buying a used boat. I really need to know if the boat I am looking at is worth the price. It is a 1989 Kingfisher XL-179. 18' bass boat. It has a 1989-90 Yamaha 115 HP outboard. Motor has low hours and the seats and carpet was all redone 2-3 years ago. The trailer and tires are in good shape. The boat has been stored uncover. It looks to be in excellent condition. The guy is asking $3500 for it but said with worth around $5000. I have a few pics on my previous posts of the boat. Please let me know. Thank you.

Your really at the point of needing an "eyeballs on" inspection since your down to niggling over dollars. Pics and general descriptions can only cover so much.:)

Check the Boat trader for like boats in your area. Pricing is very location and season dependent.

If it was worth $5000, he would sell it for $5000. Unless he needs to get rid of it really fast.

Pics would be nice.

There are lots of web sites that have boats for sale. DO a search for "used boats". One of the best sites is "yachtworld.com". Bear in mind that a boat listed by a broker has a commission in the price. The price sounds good. Take it for a ride and run it at wide open throtle.
