Is my 150 Evinrude fuel injected???

Hi all....Sorry, I'm not that mechanically inclined when it comes to boat....but I have a 1993 Stratos with a 150 Evinrude and was wondering if it was fuel injected or not....? I'm having a plug fouling issue and was wondering if it had carbs to adjust or what!! It runs pretty rich and if you push the key in to chock it too much, I'm done! I have to pull the plugs and clean them real good to get it to start again! It ran great today in the cool weather!! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!<br /><br />Rick

Your engine is carbureted, Rick.<br /><br />If you plan to do any work on it, which I recommend, get a Service Manual and study it.<br /><br />Good luck, and welcome to iboats.

Welcome Rick, Evinrude had 24 different models for the 1993 150hp, the one I looked at had carbs.

Thanks a bunch, JB......I bought a manual for it but my wife's uncle has "borrowed" it and I forget to get it from him. ahaha.....Would the manual show how to adjust the fuel mixture? I'm thinking mine is too rich, due to the plug problem.

There shouldn't be any adjustable jets on the 93 150HP Evinrude(if that is the correct year of the motor). What is the model #?

After doing a compression and spark check,and checking the fuel, and making sure the motor is getting up to the proper temperature, and checking the timing, then you might have to rejet the carbs.

I believe they are the Champion ones....not sure the model no....They aren't the gapless ones. Got any good recommendations????<br /><br />Rick
