I just did the seal, gimbal bearing, and bellows, all in all it went well enough, and that was without the bellows tool....or so I think??? What I did is fill a fiftyfive gallon barrel that was cut in half with water. Now it had to be cocked slightly, but with a trim set low..ish, the barrel was deep enough with water to cover the inlets that the muffs typically cover. So I should have had water circulation. I started my moter (3.0) 4 cyl and the exhaust was Not blowing from the prop...??? What the...? So I re-pull the outdrive and check to see the bellows hadn't come loose or had been 'on' with a False seating on the flanges, and the bellows were just perfect, seated, clamped, and also a new outdrive to gimbal gasket. When I put the outdrive on initaly after putting all the stuff on I listed previously, everything went together fairly easily. oh the usual blessings and all, while pushing the outdrive into place with the shifter mechanism and the splines and all. but it was not noteworthy in any way, it went on so-so... easy enough. I'm sure the bellows for the exhaust is on and seated and the clamp tight, I did get the 8mm fllex driver off of ebay to facilitate the hard to get to clamps, so I made particular note that they were in fact tight. I just can't figure this one. Right now the outdrive i
s off and setting next to the boat, and thats where I am.... Any suggestions or knowledge I might have missed??? I read all the instructions and followed all the tricks/methods and took my time at it rushing Nothing. Help please.
