I am going to replace my mercruiser 260 with a chevy 350 out of a truck, block only with brass freeze plugs. My motor i have now is from a 1983 chaparral 198xlc. I have seen motors online that are chevy 350 4 bolt main and some that say 2 bolt main. Which one am i looking for. Probably a simple question but im a newbie. Thanks for the help

Mercruiser engines are typically 2 bolt mains.

2 bolts are the most common.
And for engines with sustained high RPM that are not fully balanced a 2 bolt is better than a 4 when it comes to a Chevy block. 4 bolts have been known to crack at the outer bolt bosses in the block.
Get the 2 bolt and save a few bucks. You will not have any problems with it.
