1989 Evinrude 60 hp. Hit something with the prop in the Charleston Harbor today. I can go forward and reverse slowly. If I add throtal the motor has an increase in RPMs but the boat will not, it seems to slow. SO forward and reverse work in lower speeds, I was going agaist the tide....basicaly trolling, and higher power I'm out of luck.

The prop has a ding on it...

Is it a clutch problem? teeth on the prop? damaged gears?

HELP! I need to Boat!

It sounds like you spun the hub. Consider a prop shop to re-hub it (i.e., put a new rubber insert in it. Maybe others commenting can suggest how you can do it yourself.

Rehubbing is not a DYI job ... prop shop is place to go. Use an indelible marker and make a mark on the back of the prop on the splined inner hub and in line, on the outer prop body. If those marks move, relative to each other, after running under load, prop is spun.
