is my temp ok

I was having some overheating problems which I think I solved.
With the muffs on I had the boat at 1000 rpm for about 15 mins... themp went a little more the halfway to 170 degrees F. Is that an ok temp?

Motor is 5.7L with an alpha 1

No way to know without having it in the water under load but 170 is not over heating.

Agree.......muffs are not good troubleshooting, cuz they can provide extra head pressure to the drive's impeller.
Run the boat in the water, under normal operating conditions and load.
