Is stator's blue/wht. stripe wire hook to ground?

I have a 1993 90 HP Mercury / Mariner. I replaced my starter the other day and was trying to "organize" my wires. Got everything put back together except for one wire (blue with white stripe) that is coming from the bundle of 6 wires from the stator. I'm pretty sure I just need to just ground on one of the terminal blocks. Is anyone 100% sure? Thanks

The only color wire that goes to ground is BLACK.

Blue w/white may be one of the trim wires, to trigger a trim relay. What kind of terminal is on the end, a female spade? Or a bullet?

6 wires from stator sounds like a CDI stator kit which means you will have a red/white and blue /white that goes to ground as you ground the non used coil out on stator.. A OEM stator would only have a max of 5 wires...
