Well yesterday I took my good old friend on a fishing trip. It wasnt his first time on a boat and he knew the basic stuff from seen me before. So he asked me to let him do all the work so he could borrow my boat sometime So I told him all the stuff that he was suppose to do on the way to the marina. I was kinda tired because I had to work the day before so I decide to just sit back and let him do all the work. I got the boat in the water and I started the motor. as we were getting into the lake I feel like the boat was going to slow so I stopped the outboard and was about to check it when I notice that the drain plug was next to my rod. I own a Jon boat and its all costume to look like a bass tracker. so Its is kinda hard to see if there is water getting in. I checked and there was a whole lot of water inside I put the plug in its place and turn around. It took us forever to get back to land and I had to drain all the water and all my stuff was wet, my wallet, registration etc. So yeah it was a pretty fun trip. Im sure letting my friend barrow my boat some time. hahaha

My father in law had this same thing happen. It was before he was married. He was going on a date with my mother in law and got into the boat, started going, then noticed water, they sped up a bit and put the plug in as to get enough water out. Guess it was pretty funny afterwards.

Hey at least he made the mistake that nearly all of us do, with you on board :) now you can assume it won't likely happen again.

Hey Shanebo, I saw your boat's brother today at the Meredith NH Town docks. Looking all 80's retro speed boaty. It was kind of silver & tan/platinum. Looker boat.

Re: Is that the drain plug?

Seems pretty stupid now but back when i was in high school about 12 years ago. I had an old 14 foot flatbottom we used to run trot lines with. One day we get out there and we have no plug. Needless to say we stuffed one of our socks in the hole and off we went. (the battery for the trolling motor was from our truck) Crazy but it didnt take on that much water and we was in and out fine.
