Is the prop too loose?

I went back to the prop and jiggled it back and fourth on the mounting bolt and it had about an 1/8 inch play. Do I want the prop more snug than this?

I realized I posted this in the wrong mercruiser area before.

Most likely what you are seeing is the play in the output shaft (ok) . The prop nut should be torqued to 55 ft /lbs.
