is there a difference in gear oil

Whats the difference in lower unit oil and reg 80/90 85/90 gear oil? yes we are talking about manuel gear case not elec shift.

Also automotive gear oil is designed to work in a vented not sealed transmission, that's why it aerates and turns the baby poo color when checked
