is there a screw on Johnson 90 that I can adjust for idling? J90MLCNB 1982 V4 VRO but I premix oil and gas. My Johnson 90 died after we started out in the no wake zone last time we went out in the Cheasapeake bay fishing. I tested it on my drive way after a few weeks on land and it died after running 8 minutes in idle speed.

Thanks in advance.

Are you certain of the year? VRO didn't come out until 1984. When you say "for adjusting idle", do you mean mixture, or idle speed? Is the tank vent functioning to allow air in to replace the fuel?
Running on the driveway, or anywhere out of the water, is much different from starting/running on the transom

Get yourself a factory service manual and do a good sync and link on it. Do the final testing on the lake.

Might want to check your compression before doing anything else. Has this motor run OK previously (this a new problem)?

This sounds like a fuel flow problem. Not pumping or an air leak into the fuel line or connector.

If repeatedly squeezing the ball will keep it running it will confirm.
