Desp...

Go to aomci.org and from there you can link to "Dan's Sea King Page: and other sites that might help you out. In the mean time...supply us with some identification information (Model no./serial no.) and a good description of the issues you're facing with your attempt to get it running, and perhaps we can help you get headed in the right direction. Sea King outboards were built by any number of manufacturers, so it's possible you might be able to obtain parts fairly easily. But then again...maybe not. It all depends upon the year, make, model.

Walt

hey desperado.if tere is no id plate on the transom mount,on the top i think there is a number on a plug somewere on the rear of the engine on the same side as the shifter somewere arond the cylnder head ,,,i think.what color is the motor? are the letters on the side covers white with red and black shadows? i have a 56 sea king 12hp, does it have a two prong fuel inlet? if so than you need an old style pressure tank.anyhoo im far from an expert, but do try and find those numbers if you get them posted the folks on this forum will get your motor identified, they havent steered me wrong yet. good luck! small block

This looks like the place to get some information on a seaking. I just bought an old (year unkn) seaking by Montgomery wards 7.5. The tag reads:

MANUFACTURED BY
CLINTON ENGINES CORP
MAQUOKETA, IOWA
MODEL NO. K7514106 A
SERIAL NO. 1194529\TYPE NO. XTV 50475 A

I got the motor running, she is going to need a good cleaning. I don't get any power to the prop. Soooo, I did what any other guy with tools and time would and took the lower unit off. I found a cast piece that engages the lower portion with the upper. I'll need that, as well as a manual. I think that I'm in deep enough with out some good guidance. If anyone can dire4ct me to a source for parts and manuals, I’d say good things about them behind their back.

Willie

If you will notice, those posts you followed are OLD as dirt. Best to start your own topic and get it going fresh. You will get a better responce that way. Good Luck,

EDIT: I see you did that already. :)
