is there an easier way ?

I have a stringer outdrive and was wondering , can you remove the intermediate housing,upper and lower gearcase all in one shot.I am trying to avoid removing them individualy.The book states that you have to remove them one at a time.I hope thats not the case.

You may remove the upper and lower together, but then remove the boot so you can remove the engine and intermediate gear housing together, it's been a while but thats the way I remember it

The boot is off already,thats how this bundle of sh%# started.I noticed that not only was the transom seal rotted ,but the bottom of the transom is starting to rot.I am going to try to get it fixed before it gets out of hand.

If you can work thru the ole maybe you could repair it without taking the intermediate housing out Bob
