Welcome to iboats.

Aside from buying a longer shaft....... NO

Make sure the motor is as deep as possible on the mount and maybe modify the bracket where you have it mounted to be lower in the water.

Thank You for the welcome

I have a transom mount trolling motor is it ok if it were to get spashed by water or will it hurt it if we were to lower it closer to the water

i took the top off of my minn kota to create a remote control style....looking at it YES you can make it longer if you are creative and make sure everything is sealed up well. inside the head is basically a dimmer control(with reverse polarity for forward n reverse) i think the shaft on mine was a composite material so epoxy should work. though lengthing it could have flexing issues? not sure but i think the people who make those trollers would make the electronics somewhat impervious to some moisure and splashing.

So the shaft is hollow with wires going down to a motor that spins a prop. Th
