My father-in-law has a johnson OB and it's running like crap. He says that someone told him that the ethanol is the problem. Says it's happing to alot of boats out on Lake Anna here in VA.

I have my boat (mercruiser 5.0l) down there with his and use the same gas and haven't had the problem. However, my boat has only been down there 2 summers. His has been there for about 4 or 5.

Anyone have a mech tell them this is bad to put in a boat motor? The reasoning behind it was because the boat engines don't get run as often as cars and that's why the cars don't have the problem.

Anyone hear about this or run into this problem on your boat?

Here we go again ;)

Try doing a thread search for ethanol, you'll find the same discussion every 2 weeks.

Well considering ethanol has been in gas for about 25 years..... I doubt it is the problem. Maybe your gas station SOLD you bad gas!!

I will close this thread it has been discussed HUNDRED's of times please use the search ;)
