I'm trying to get some info on this motor (Merc 225 saltwater series). I can't find the serial or model number and I don't even know if it's a 2 or 4 stroke. I'm guessing 2. There is sticker that says manufactured in 2001, but I'm not sure if that's just a date for a part on the motor. Can anyone out there tell if it's fuel injected. It does have what looks like carbs on it, but I'm not sure if they are those throttle body injection type carbs. 2012-12-18 13.21.19.jpg you see on "older" cars.

Ok. I just answered my silly question. It must be a 2 stroke with that oil reservoir on the side of it...

The engine serial number is located on the lower
starboard side of the engine block.
