Is this a fuel Filter for a 87 Merc 60HP? pic included

My dad and I took this off from inside the motor. It was connected to the fuel line. WE are trying to replace the fuel filter but the one the shop sold us looks fairly different. Here is the one we pulled off. Again it's a 87 Merc 60HP.

That is what mine looked like (I have the same motor).
I replaced mine with another, external. I could not get
one like it, NLA.

Hmm, ok thanks. We looked inside of it and it seemed clean not at all gunked up. You could see out the other side and didn't see anything.

Not NLA... superseded to a new number.... try 35-816296Q2.

Please don't reuse the old one... they may LOOK clean but they aren't.... for the sake of your $$$ engine, spend the $5.50 and buy a new one on... You should also be replacing the fuel pump diaphragms at the same time.... The part number for that kit is 21-857005A1 and it's only $20..... and easy to do, takes about 15 minutes....

We actually aleady have one bought however our number sold to us was 35-87946Q04. I take it this is the wrong one . We'll take it back and see if they the have correct one.
