This is a nice outboard that runs pretty good. Could use a tune up but none the less starts up and runs OK on the bench. Used it last year and had no problems until transome went bad on boat. Cleaning up my shop so engine needs a new home. I do have controls and tach for motor. Only needs throttle and shift cables to make complete. Email or call and I will answer ???? .240-793-8448 Asking $575.00 or make offer. Thanks for looking. No Scammers and cash only.

You want to hear it run, preferably on a boat on the water. They're a bit spendy to repair, so insist on a running outboard for that price, I'd think.

The "could use a tune-up" line is a frequent way of saying the thing runs like crap, and the seller has no intention of letting you hear it.

The only worse thing to read in an ad is "it ran great the last time I used it." That generally means that it died the last time it was used and the owner never got it running again afterwards.

If you're going to drop over $500, you need to see for yourself before turning over the money. You could very quickly spend another $500 on it.

Lordy, That is a little stiff for that age motor. It would have to be in good running condition, and I think you should find one with power trim and tilt. It makes a big difference.

Just rebuilt mine and spent quite a bit of money on just gaskets and carb kits.

Find out if it has a distrubtor (or is electronic), what year it is, what shape the harness is in (the wires go bad) and wat the compression is.

After reading most of these replies, I will likely not buy it. I originally thought is seemed like a good price for something to resell in whole or parts. WAAAY too big for my little Lund.
