Is this a problem, 2-bolt and no splash shield

Bought my boat used and have had to fix so much @(%$*@ stuff that the previous owner didn't do. Previous owner had the 5.0 GL replaced with a 5.7 block. I had to change oil pan gasket and in doing so, I found two issues I would like to know if they are problems.
1. Block is only 2-bolt main bearring caps. I have lots of experience on cars and that is fine for lite modifications, in cars. However, I noticed from parts breakdowns that block originally had 4-bolt mains. Is this an issue in a boat? Is 2-bolt ok?
2. Also noticed there was not oil splash shield in the oil pan (normally attaches to stud from main bearings). Will I incur any major problems with the lack of oil shield?

Thanks in advance for the help.

2 bolt main is no problem unless you are pushing over 300 HP, as for the windage tray they are a good idea if you run at high rpm for any length of time. the tray and mounting studs are available aftermarket or check the auto wreckers, they were stock on most vortec engines

Ayuh,...

Most boat motors are 2 bolt main motors...

A windage tray is something that Should be used,...
Whether block mounted, or pan mounted doesn't matter so much, as long as you have 1 or the other...
