Is this a somewhat simple fix?

I have a few cracks in the deck of my bluewave. It looks to me like it's just the paint, but i'm not familiar with boat decks/hulls very much. Is this something i can just sand back smooth and repaint? It still feels solid in these areas its just cracking and kind of raising up a bit.deck 1.jpgdeck 2.jpg

I would start buy sanding it back to feather and seeing how deep it goes. As long as it doesn't go all the way through to where there is any wood rot present or all the way through, I would just build it back up and paint/gelcoat it from there.

I think you will find that there is a reason for these cracks.----Structural damage I say.

Welcome,
Not sure from the picture but could be a stringer or bulkhead under the crack making it seem solid. How is the rest of the deck, its possible the deck is rotted and sagged which caused the floor to seem pushed up where the underneath structure is.

The rest of the deck seems pretty solid. This boat has sat out in the South Texas sun and heat its whole life, so maybe that could be the culprit?

The few places that its doing this, pieces that are cracked and kind of peeling up are really thin. I may do like suggested above and start sanding and feathering to see what things look like. Thanks.

Take it slow and don't be surprised of the floor underneath the cracks is bad. Do a good look see at the wood underneath for any sign of water / rot. If it is just the paint cracking, count yourself blessed.
