Erik in a word no thats not a Jupiter . Jupiters were aluminum and that boat is fiberglass :D. I have a Jupiter . I will say its not a bad looking boat and with some more info we could probably research it and find out what it atually is.

How did you know it's fiberglass? He doesn't have much info on it, other than it's 16' and a few pics.

Erik the cap gives it away as not being aluminum . All of the aluminum boats the cap is pretty much flat with the exception of some of the cuddy cabins and even then the basic cap is flat and even with the rub rails.

I will add by the windshield it is of 60's vintage as later Starcrafts didnt have the rounded Plexiglass windshields on them.

Ok I found a possibility in the 1962 brochure and would say fairly safely it is either a Comet or Meteor :D. I used the Lapstrake sides for that decision I will do a little more digging for you .

The differance between the Comet and Meteor was in the seating . The Comet had only a pair of back to back lounge seats in it . The Meteor had a walk through bench up front and a second bench seat in the back of the boat.

I am still leaning towards the Meteor or Comet due to its size although the Meteor name changed to Catalina in 63 still looks like the same boat though the other 2 I mentioned are only 14' and therefore not right.

LOL Erik it helps to have access to old brochures such as the ones Huron Angler put up in the Starcraft forum or those available on the Yahoo Starcraft group. I have gotten pretty decent at figuring them out since I have had my Jupiter :D. I still say that one looks decent depending on the price although being fiberglass it wil need more upkeep and have differant issues than the Aluminum boats do.

I'd bet a million dollars that this red/white one is your boat:D...from the 1964 brochure...didn't see the name but if you look at the specs chart and measure the boat you can get a positive ID.

Yeah, I think I'm going to go for this one instead. I can see the rivets, so it has to be aluminum, right?

Erik that second one is deffinately Aluminum and may actually be a Jupiter . There should be a plate on the side of the boat near the dash that may even tell you for sure what that one is but again if its not there we can figure it out . The plate is usually between the controls and the Dash.

I'm in Seattle, Washington area. I have to be able to get that 2nd boat first! It looks like he did a pretty extensive restoration job, if he gets back to me today I'll go check it out and join in lol. There's a plate on the side, but the wording is faded.

The second one is not a Jupiter. Jupiter has five rows of aluminum and that second one only has four. I am going to guess it is 14' Holiday.
