Yes that is a Starcraft or Sylvan, made by Starcraft. It is either a Starchief or Chieftain depending on what year it is. Of course it is worth restoring, several have been done already on this site.
This model is my personal favorite. Easy to tow and fuel efficient on the water.

Re: Is This a STARCRAFT?

would it be worth restoring?

I have not been around long but from what I have seen around here asking that question is kind of like asking a gun nut "should I buy this gun?"

By the way. I have one just like the one in your pic. Mine was in much worse shape than the one you showed.

Looks like a boat born in the mid/late 70s. Chieftain is my vote.
Do Not let this get away!!!

Re: Is This a STARCRAFT?

Thanks you folks for the feedback. I took a closer look at the boat today and she shows better at a distance. The transom looks like some repairs have been done and is buldging at the motor mount. I saw what looked like a stainless steel plate under the motor. The transom corners have either been replace or reinforced by stainless steel screws. The access cap on the bow will have to be replaced. Dents in the hull. The decking looks like it is sagging. The motor is a 135 instead of a 115 Johnson. I don't think I would take this thing out on the water but I know the guy is using it. Can anyone say how much this both might be worth? low to high dollars.

Thank again for you help.

Got my 74 18' Chieftain with a 1990 90hp Rude and sweet trailer for $1000. I don't think I could have done better. Location seems to have an effect on price.

Boat was sold at auction in mid Oct. 2011 for $1,000. The buyer then put the boat up for sale for $1,300. Maybe he will make a quick $300.
