Had a nice coworker give this boat to me. The title says its a Sears 1973, but the way Kentucky does titles on boat they only ensure the Vin is correct.

The model on the plate says "14v7", what other information would be helpful?

Sorry it looks bad in the photos I removed some old heavy water logged decking.

That plate reads the following

Serial 000597
Capacity 801 Pounds
or Three people
10 HP Motor Max
Model 14v7

Well, I plugged that model number into google, with everything from "sears", to just plain "boat," and nothing that had anything to do with a sears semi vee came up. Also, scrolling down the sears section, at the bottom of this page, and looking at the sears specks (Click here) you will notice that the sears model numbers are all 5 digit numbers, usually starting with # 6. Either it is not a sears, or your model number is completely off.

I'll keep searching for ya though.

PS, the story would have been better, had you kept them as bowling balls.

You say you have a title?
What state is it from? Kentucky?
If so, it will have the HIN on it as Vehicle Identification.

Remember that HINs were not required until 1972. His very well may not have one. If you do, though, plug it into this site, and it should tell you what it is.

I have a 1974 Sears Gamefisher and it does not look like your boat. The bow is far less pointed and the alumimnum seats while riveted to the sides of boat like yours, do not go all the way to the deck. My boat had half of the serial numbers missing and when I called Sears to see if they could help they told me the manufacturer of those boats was no longer in business.

God luck with your search.

I've looked over every inch of the boat only one set of numbers the ones I posted above!

Can't believe a Google search can't find anything with same model...

Re: Is this boat a Sears?

It could possibly be a Lowe Jon Boat. I found what looks to be a similar boat to yours but the bow looks like it might be a little different shaped, I happen to see it on the internet at one time. Seems like I have seen those style boats in person before but I can't picture or remember the brand boat they were. There are several possibilities out there, Alumicraft makes a boat that looks similar to the one you have also.
