Is this normal?

While I was changing my water pump in my outdrive I noticed that the shaft was loose is this normal, once I put the water pump back in it was fine. I added a link to a video that I took of it.

Yes, it's normal. Pull up on the shaft and it won't have that movement as the bearing sets into the race. When running, the gear is forced up into the bearing by the gear shape.
