I really, really, hate to sound rude, but you've had two entire threads dedicated to your anchor questions... now a third... I would have thought you would have it figured out by now...

That being said, I would just get the Danford/Fluke anchor. I think it would be better for you for the sandbar...

I don't think it's "that" big, and would hold better than a river anchor (I don't like river style anchor's personally). It's always better to have something a little bigger and more solid than you need in the anchor dept. IMO.

Good luck with it.

I have a 20' ft boat also and I use it the rivers and lakes. The best anchor for use in rivers and lakes is called a "Collapsible Box Anchor" this is what I use and my boat weighs 3150 lbs. This anchor will not let your boat budge at all. It is specificlly designed for the rivers and lakes. Here is a pic...but I'm sure you could find one way cheaper, I think I paid under $100 brand new when I bought mine.:D

Yeah I know and im sorry for the dup treads, its just that im broke now and pricing out anchors, rope, chain was little more then 100 bucks and I say this one on craigs list and thought maybe I could be a cheapio for once in this economy and get this one and I would be good to go. The other one the guys selling looks big and I dont know if I have room on my boat for that in any of my conpartments.

If I get this anchor for 10 bucks do you guys think I will be ok..... Its on a lake about 20 miles long I will use it on not to much wake. Dont care if I might have to adjust every couple hours.

If cash is an issue right now..go with what you can grab now and like you said in your quote above, be ready for some constant adjusting:D

Good Luck:D

That anchor will probably suck in the sand...

I think it;s more for bottom that has rocks and limbs on it. Just go to Walmart and get a wedge anchor. they're made for sand. You can get one that is the right size for your boat for about $15-20 too.

I see you're local, I live in Cobleskill and work in Colonie. Do you go to Sacandaga?

Boating when you're broke is pretty much impossible... Everything even remotely related to boating costs piles of money... Good luck in your quest...

The walmart in Washington Ave ext has a 1/2 isle dedicated to marine stuff and its cheap... I think I saw some anchors there a few days ago.... good stuff when you're on a tight budget...

yes i do i live in colonie actully. Small world yeah that where the link is above from walmart its 20 bucks. questions is its only 7lb dont know if it would hold a 19ft boat at the sandbar. Its not that im broke I still have money for gas etc but my friends want to go to the sand bar and they only throw me like 10 bucks each time out on the boat or buy me beer. I still end up paying 60 buck gas in the boat truck food etc. And I dont want to spend a ton to go to the sandbar dont care for it that much I like tubing, going out on my jetski that I let my buddy bring up on the lake and being away from everyone else. But everyone wants to go and I dont want to spend 100 bucks for the anchor. I told them if they want to go buy the anchor so looking for somthing cheap cause there all broke ***.

if you can go to the lake and only spend 60 bucks you're a head of me by a long shot and I have a smaller boat... haha...

I'm actually in the market for a boat pretty much exactly like yours right now... not having much luck finding anything though...

If it's costing you 60 and your friends are not kicking in enough don't go till they can come up with more cash. Boats don't run on thank's and they probably have more money than they are letting you know about.

Just try it. Obviously the CL anchor can't be returned, but anything from Wal-mart can, you won't be able to wreck an anchor trying it a few times. Return it if it doesn't hold your boat.
