Is this primer the "same" as zinc chromate?

Just curious if this will work for my aluminum boat as a primer.

I don't think it is.

Wholesale Marine has a great price on spray cans. I can't remember who sells a gallon. Check woodonglass, "paint your boat for under a hundred dollars".

Nah, that's more like a cold galvanizing paint for steel.

Notice the words Anti Rust? This means it's for ferrous metals and probably not for aluminum.

Wal-mart does carry the self etching ZC spray paint... in the automotive department, not the paint department.

okay sounds good. I'll return it and see if my local walmart sells it. I only need it for spots of bare aluminum that is showing.

dangit. my walmart doesnt carry it. their auto section really shrunk the past few years.

my local advance auto sells this.
