The manual diagram has 3 stator leads going to the rectifier but mines only has two. Had to by a magnifying glass to see the diagram in the book but it looks like the 3rd is supose to go to the screw in the middle. I'm I missing something

Stupid Clymers manual has 3 leads coming out from the stator on diagram but in there crappie picture in only counted 2. Thanks maxum247 you have come threw for me again. Quick question: how can I tell if fuel is circulating and not blocked:confused:

Hook the lower unit to a water supply with muffs connected so as to not damage the impeller in the lower unit, pump up the squeeze ball, crank the engine over several revolutions with the choke engaged, then pull the spark plugs and see if there wet with gas.
If the plugs are wet with gas the fuel system isn't blocked. That does'nt necessarily mean the carburetor couldn't use a good cleaning and the fuel pump a new diaphram.

I did that and the plugs were dry as a bone:( I will do as you suggested - carb cleaning & new diaphram.
