i recently bought a boat and noticed that at the bottom the keel looks like the gel coat has came off looks like the previous owner did some patch work but it still looks ( not smooth)..how can i fix this? how much?do i need to fix soon or can it wait a while?

That's typical wear from beaching often. Sadly I do this a lot, and it looks very familiar. You could simply go with a Keel Guard or Keel Shield or something similar. You can also patch with a gelcoat repair kit.

That is the typical sign of a balsa wood cored boat about to go bad......

Like QC said, just get a keel guard vinyl strip and cover it up.

No biggie there at all. My keel looks about the same. Marinetex matches my white fairly closely though and when cured polishes up to a fairly nice match.

I bought a keelguard as Boater's world was busy sinking.

but, cool... so looks like something i can tackle later-on down the line.. thanks for the quick reply, right now im changing intake manifold gaskets,exhaust gaskets,swaping carbs,maintnance,plugs,oil etc...

thanks i like it too but no i got a refund i was lucky that ronald from sure fab unlimited has a return policy that he honors ( what you dont use we will take back)...
i was stressing for a minute there..
