Is this too much motor?

Looking to buy a boat. It's a 18.5 fiberglass fish and ski with 1984 150 hp Evinrude on it. Is that too much motor for that boat?

That is probably just right, Brian, but gotta know the max power rating for that exact boat.

Totally depends on what it's rated for. If you go over your insurance could be null and void.

Likely the coast guard rating for that boat is over 150. Maybe more like 175.
