Some Johnson/Evinrude engines have external trim and tilt relays? In otherwords, not under the powerhead cover but inside the boat? My brother just hit me with that one. Mine is a 1992 v8 250,anyone know?
Thanks

Some of the older ones did, yes. Up til the mid to late 70's. They had a box with a solenoid and related wiring that was mounted in the boat. Basically all the trim units that were produced with a 3 wire trim motor were like that I believe.

Ok, sounds like I am in the clear then. I gotta get this thing back to my house because I keep thinking about things and don't have the motor with me to verify stuff. BTW, do you know where or I should say, what is the part number for the lower cowling fitting that accepts the 2" rigging tube (for neatness)

Thanks

That's an aftermarket piece. Where ever you buy the tubing is probably where you'll find the fittings.

I had an '83 J-90 that had the relays in the boat. Ahhhh yes...the old 1975 Airslot....what a tank.
