Is trigger supposed to wiggle?

Question... getting boat ready for spring... I googled this and couldn’t find it.

my trigger is loose... I can wiggle it back and forth... is that normal?

94 60hp mercury 2 stroke

I'd say that it's loose. As racer implied, if the engine works to suit you, don't worry about it. However, depending on the degree of wear, it could allow parts to contact parts not normally contacted and cause an engine shutdown and additional damaged components.
