I removed my lower unit and when i tried to remove the bolt that holds the trim tab on it broke. I've tried to remove it w/o sucess. My question is i have a stingray hydrofoil mounted on my 110hp rude, do i really need the trimtab?

it may pull left or right a bit more, there is also a water passage on most that picked up water and fed it to the prop cavity to aid in keeping the hub cool. that being said I know a lot that have none.

Chaz..... I strongly recommend that (if you can't handle that procedure) you have a machine shop remove the broken stud and restore the threads. Without that trim tab water passage that RodBolt speaks of, there's a very good possibility that you will burn the vaulcanized rubber out of the propeller hub.
