Earlier this week while fishing my motor wouldn't stay running and I ended up using the trolling motor to get back. It would fire up and die, fire up and die, without continuing to stay running. Previous I noticed that when I started it, it left black soot on the water. After getting back to camp i did find a vacuum hose that was going from the fuel pump enclosure to the throttle body was split. I replaced it but I still have a problem where it wants to die out on me and doesn't have much power. There isn't a code when turning the key on, so I am confused as to what is going on as it seems to run out of gas. I am going to get a fuel pressure gauge but would appreciate any help. It is a 2012 model.

I did have the fuel pump case open and drained the gas out of it to check things over and I think maybe I should have filled it with gas before closing it up? I had a lot of air in the system which I bled out with a fuel pressure tester. It seems to run fine in the driveway with a boot on it, but haven't taken it out yet. If I am getting air in the line somewhere else, where should I look?

I took it out today and it ran great for about 5 min. and started to "run out of gas" which I believe is air in the lines. Any idea how I can be getting air in the line? Or maybe the supply pump isn't keeping up? Any ideas?
