We got some in my area too - well not immediate area. Apparently the Parishs north of Lake Ponchartrain may get up to 3". Like all snowstorms in our area, however, I expect it will be gone with 24 hours.

It was mostly gone in a day here - some hung on in the shade at higher elevations even through today - it will be gone for good tomorrow though.

I was born in Christiansted, St. Croix and grew up all over the Caribbean. Daddy was the Captain of a seagoing dredge. She was born in Charleston and grew up all over the world. Her daddy was a lifer Air Farce mechanic on the nuclear bombers. We first crossed paths (but did not meet) in Guam in 1984. I was doing work in the Navy that I can't ever talk about and she was a red cross greeter at the big air base. Both of us prefer to be close enough to the equator so that the temps don't drop below 50f.

I know how to drive on it (unfortunately). I shoveled more snow in boot camp than I had ever seen in my life. Three winters at Great Lakes NTC. Yuck.

That's the thing about you guys down south. Getting a little of the white stuff is considered a treat since it doesn't happen too often. Saw on tv where some adults were sliding down a hill on what ever they could find. Mainly on a sheet of plastic. Looked like there was about only 1/2" of snow.

Us northern boys have to deal with it for sometimes 6 months. And the boys across the border may have it longer. Sure glad I like to snowmobile, ice fish and cross country ski. Otherwise, a guy could go nuts. O'yeah, and plowing helps pay the bills.

So enjoy it while you can and think of us when your spring flowers start to bloom and we're getting hammered with a snowstorm or three......

Global warming....... HA....... I agree with ya'll on that one. What does Al have to say about it now???

Well it's like this ... we expect 12 to 14 inches here on wednesday ... that means hell for commuters .... like either not getting to work or taking 3 hours to get there ... and you want to make sure your snow thrower works right ... LOL

No snow here YET. Maybe I'll make plans for a weekend in Tuskaloosa. Does anyone know the name of the ski resort just north of town. Maybe I'll be the first Canadian of the season.
