I have a 1995 150 OCEAN PRO E150EXEOM that ran great until last weekend. First off it started a little rougher the normal, then clear up an ran fine. Went to plane out and engine just died! no alarm no warning no nothing.engine restarted jump up on plane ran for about 3 minutes then died again, fuel is fresh, primer ball is firm. engine restarts idles; fine mid range 3200rpm again this time for approx. 5 minutes then died. starts right back up idle, mid range, jump on plane this time it runs great the rest of the day. This happen on Saturday and Sunday.
I don't think its a fuel issue, carbs rebuilt this year, squizing primer ball did not help. plugs are new. when tested they had spark.I do have the service manuel.
Could this be the power pack going bad. I don't mind replacing the part I just don't want to get stuck on the water.
I tried to search subject but could not fine my problem in the forum.
any help would be great.

Re: It Just Dies!!

Sounds to me like a heat related ignition failure, F&R.

Crank her up on the muffs, take the cowling off and apply heat with a hair dryer (not a heat gun). See if that makes her die.

Good luck. :)

I'll try it this week end but when it started I don't think the engine was warm enough to cause any heat related problems. What parts should I focas on and do I remove the power pack cover.
